Vintage Italian, stackable First model chairs by the Italian designer Stefano Giovannoni for Magis.

Chair First was designed for Magis by the award winning Italian designer Stefano Giovannoni in 2007, who has been acclaimed for his sleek and attractive designs for plastic furniture. The Chair First, with its simple lines, is a fine example of this designer's stylish work.

These are early examples produced in 2009

It is durable and lightweight, suitable for both outdoor and indoor use, and are stackable up to 10 chairs. Would make a stunning addition to any home, garden, or patio.

These chairs are in excellent condition throughout with absolutely minimal signs of wear. Some extremely light marks may be present. All have been cleaned and professionally treated.

DESIGN

An object featuring carved essential lines, simultaneously expressing continuity and differentiation from the back of the seat. The design took five years to complete utilising gas-assisted technology moulding for the first time.

The name, First, is born from this cutting-edge technology and close collaboration between the designer.

Stefano Giovannoni

Stefano Giovannoni born in La Spezia, lives and works in Milan as industrial designer, interior designer and architect. He graduated at the University of Architecture in Florence at the age of 23 and, in the same faculty, he taught and conducted research until 1991.

In 1984 and 1985 he collaborated with Ettore Sottsass and Alchimia-Mendini. He taught at Domus Academy in Milan, SPD Milan, at Università del progetto di Reggio Emilia, at University of Architecture in Florence and in Genoa.

Giovannoni has collaborated with a variety of industry leaders and has received a number of design awards spanning from 1980 to the present day.
