George III Mahogany Tripod Supper Table Circular Tilt Top, Occasional C1780
George III Mahogany Tripod Supper Table, c.1780
A fine late‑18th‑century mahogany tripod supper table with a circular tilting top framed by a carved gadrooned border enriched with shell motifs, raised on three cabriole legs.
Measuring 70 cm in height and 80 cm in diameter, this is a superb example of Georgian craftsmanship. Its balanced proportions and refined detailing make it an ideal lamp table, wine table, or an occasional centrepiece in a drawing room or study.
Condition: the table is in very good condition for its age.
The locking mechanism is in good working order.
There is some wear and surface scratches/dents consistent with age as well as scorch marks from 200 years of daily use, as clearly shown in the photographs. Otherwise, the piece remains in excellent order.
