Victorian Mahogany Tall Chest of Drawers – Circa 1880

A fine late‑Victorian tall chest of drawers, dating to around 1880 and offering five deep, graduating drawers in an elegant and practical format. The drawer fronts are crafted in figured mahogany, finished with complete cock‑beading to the edges — all original and intact.

This piece retains its original lightly faded French‑polished surface, now displaying a rich, deep mahogany tone with beautiful patina throughout. It stands on four bun feet and features original turned mahogany knobs alongside brass keyhole escutcheons and original locks (no keys).

The finely dovetailed mahogany drawers are in excellent order: smooth running, structurally sound, and clean inside. The lowest drawer is a full‑depth oversized drawer extending beyond the plinth, offering generous storage in true Victorian fashion.

Cleaned and waxed, this chest has been carefully preserved to maintain its authentic finish and character. A handsome, functional piece that brings classic Victorian warmth and presence to any interior.
